Loch Muick

I am a little bit late writing this blog but it has been a hectic week. I feel like I haven’t stopped and when I do finally sit down – I get super engrossed in Blue Bloods or I fall asleep hah.

So Shaun and I decided a few weeks ago to set a date and go and walk around Loch Muick. For those of you who don’t know Loch Muick is a freshwater loch that is situated about 5 miles south of Breamar (where I happened to drive us to in the attempt to get there without googlemaps) and it is within the boundary of Balmoral Estate. I can tell you now I did not feel very royal walking around it but maybe that’s because it rained most of the time!

Loch Muick is roughly a 7.5 mile walk and takes approx 3.5 hours. We stopped and took lots of photos, we took it at our own pace and ate our packed lunches along the way. I had an amazing time getting in a long walk on my day off from training with LBP and when I got home its safe to say that I slept like a baby and felt great for it on Monday morning. No wonder – I walked over 20,000 steps!

The loch is just as I remember it but this time there were deer everywhere. Heaps of them… just walking around, – absolutely breathtaking. We stopped at the house that’s situated about 3/4 of the way around and when we got there I thought it would be a good idea to look in the windows… you know… just being nosey. To my horror there were actually people sitting in the bothy which in turn had me scream and run a mile and look like a total fool. Serves me right for snooping!

Here are some of my photos that I managed to snap in them midst of the rain.
